Rasul Nazriev won his second tournament of the 21-22 chess season by taking the Winter Thaw in Helena with a score of 4.5 while Thomas Walthall took second. Youth and newer players were heavily featured as more than half of the 29 players were under the age of 20, and more than half of the players had provisional ratings. Three players (Matteo Nero, Liev Huber, and Ben Curtis) increased their ratings by more than 100 points. Everyone will look to keep the momentum going in Billings !
