Matteo Nero won the Winter Thaw in Helena out of a field of 36 players from Montana & Washington. There was a 3 way tie for second between Christopher Patalano, Jim Skovron, & Sebastian Cardullo.
With both Matteo & Sebastian in high school, this marks the second straight tournament with 2 Montana high school students finishing in first or second (tied). The Montana High School Championship at the end of April will be an amazing tournament. Three juniors increased their ratings by at least 100 points at the tournament, led by Sebastian whose rating increased by 400 points !
Now it is on to Billings for the St Patrick Open !
