The 2023 Big Sky Country MCA Grand Prix tournament was held September 16 & 17 at the Red Lion Hotel in Kalispell Montana. 30 players competed for a $559 prize fund and coffee! The prize categories were 1st, 2nd, & 3rd overall, Classes A, B, C-D, E, F and lower, Unrated, and Biggest Upset.

Griffin Herr (1761 Coeur d’ Alene) won 1st and a pound of Montana Coffee Traders coffee with 4.5 points.
Wilton Strickland (1882 Missoula) and Joshua Miller (1839 Kalispell) tied for Class A.
Ben Curtis (1684 Bozeman), Timothy Christensen (1648p Billings), and Massimo Jackson (1441p Coaldale, AB) shared the pooled prizes of 2nd, 3rd, and Class B. Timothy won a pound of Montana Coffee Traders coffee.
Lane Wicks (1388 Florence) and Eliel Bodonyi-Kovacs (1354p Kalispell) tied for Class C-D.
Tirien Bodonyi-Kovacs (1170p Kalispell) won Class E.
Isaac Arganbright (963 Fort Benton), Brock Swope (935p Columbia Falls), and Domosh Bodonyi-Kovacs (660p Kalispell) tied for Class F & lower.
John Wessel (unr Kalispell) and Gabriel May (unr Kalispell) tied for Class Unrated.
Isaac Arganbright won Biggest Upset with a 795 point differential.
10 prize categories were available and 14 players won cash prizes.
