The 88th Montana Open was held in Billings this past weekend and drew 46 players from Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota. Alex Karns continued his win streak taking sole possession of first place. Second place was a 6 way tie, including 5 players from Montana. 18 players finished with a positive score, 16 from Montana, of which 9 were scholastic players! Jesse Wheeler had two upset wins over players rated 500 points above him and will gain the most rating points from the tournament. Matteo Nero had the toughest draw, playing the top 3 finishers, and still had a positive score.
